One way that we express our sense of belonging to the community of CoGS is by giving – whether in terms of our time, energy or talent, and financially.
CoGS receives no external funding from the Church of England – we need to meet our running costs ourselves. So we rely almost entirely on the giving of the local church family to finance our mission and ministry at the heart of Crookhorn.
Jesus gave Himself for us. We want to live our lives in response to the grace and generosity of God.
If you would like to give time to CoGS please contact the Revd Peter Hall on email@example.com
If you would like to give money to CoGS there are a few ways to do that:
- A one off gift of cash or cheque (made payable to ‘CoGS’)
- A regular amount each month, quarter or year.
We use the ‘Parish Giving Scheme‘, a modern and efficient method using direct debits for payments. Please contact the Treasurer via firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
- Leave a Legacy.
Contact a solicitor about updating your will to include a gift or legacy to CoGS. If you would like advice on this, please contact the Treasurer.
If you are a UK tax payer, by completing a Gift Aid Declaration Form, available from the treasurer, your giving is increased by 25p per every £1, at no extra cost to you (the additional amount being given by the Inland Revenue!).
whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
(2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
We don’t take a weekly collection at COGS. However cash or cheques (payable to Church of Good Shepherd) can be placed in the offertory box by the main door. If you wish to give regularly please contact our treasurer below for details of our scheme.
