What we believe…
We believe that everyone matters to God and so they matter to us. Therefore we will be a place where everybody including the hurting, depressed, frustrated and confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance and encouragement.
Mission
We believe that God has commanded us to go and tell the Good News of Jesus Christ to all people. Therefore we try to be an outward looking church, expressing Jesus in our local area, our country and the world.
Giving
We believe that we have received from God greater than we can ever give. Therefore we will choose to sacrificially give our time and resources.
Prayer
We believe in a God who hears and answers prayer. We see prayer as the activity which undergirds and weaves its way through every aspect of life and faith.
Gifts
We believe that every believer has a significant role to play in God’s work. Therefore we will help everybody to discover and use the gifts and talents God has given them.
Fellowship
We believe that Christian growth and discipleship happens best in small groups. Therefore we will meet together to encounter God, support one another and have fun together; encouraging and enabling each other to follow Christ and be transformed into His likeness.
We seek to aim high in what we believe God wants from us as a church, but we’re not perfect and are definitely on a journey!
We encourage all ages to grow into a personal relationship with Jesus with aims to enable you to grow in confidence and faith and to equip and empower you to live a life modelled on Jesus; we do all this while having fun and socialising with each other.
Our Vision
Seeking to serve the Lord ‘What are we here for?’ and ‘What does the Lord require of us?’ are important questions to ponder at the start of any new year. Following a week of focussed prayer in the autumn of 2016 and the ‘Leading Your Church into Growth’ course (LYCIG) in Spring 2017, CoGS PCC have been trying to discern answers to these questions and put together a set of ministry priorities for the next few years.
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” -Isaiah 43:19
