What we believe…

We believe that everyone matters to God and so they matter to us. Therefore we will be a place where everybody including the hurting, depressed, frustrated and confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance and encouragement.

We believe that God has commanded us to go and tell the Good News of Jesus Christ to all people. Therefore we try to be an outward looking church, expressing Jesus in our local area, our country and the world.

We believe that we have received from God greater than we can ever give. Therefore we will choose to sacrificially give our time and resources.

We believe in a God who hears and answers prayer. We see prayer as the activity which undergirds and weaves its way through every aspect of life and faith.

We believe that every believer has a significant role to play in God’s work. Therefore we will help everybody to discover and use the gifts and talents God has given them.

We believe that Christian growth and discipleship happens best in small groups. Therefore we will meet together to encounter God, support one another and have fun together; encouraging and enabling each other to follow Christ and be transformed into His likeness.

We seek to aim high in what we believe God wants from us as a church, but we’re not perfect and are definitely on a journey!

We meet at 10:00am on Sundays for worship, teaching and ministry. The service is very informal, with contemporary worship songs and talks that aim to be both Biblical and practical in terms of relating God’s Word to our everyday lives. We offer a youth and children’s programme and refreshments are served at the end. The service usually lasts about an hour-an-a-half. On the First Sunday of every month we host the South Hants New Wine Network celebration. This is a lively service with an extended worship time, and teaching from various guest speakers. The service begins at 6.30pm, with refreshments served from 6pm. On Sundays when the New Wine service is not held, we meet for prayer for an hour from 7pm. All are welcome to join us in prayer for local, national and international issues.
We welcome all young people and invite you to come and join us in our Sunday services, within our Sunday groups (Crèche: for babies and toddlers up-to and including 4yrs, Junior Church: ages 4-10yrs, RE:fuel: ages 11-16yrs, JYC (Joint Youth Celebration) or at our mid week groups (find out more: Ages 0-4, Ages 4-10, Ages 11+)

We encourage all ages to grow into a personal relationship with Jesus with aims to enable you to grow in confidence and faith and to equip and empower you to live a life modelled on Jesus; we do all this while having fun and socialising with each other.

We currently have 10 house groups that meet each week to discover more about their Christian faith. The groups are open to everyone; they meet at various times in the week and in different homes across the Parish and beyond. Home groups enable us to have a more intimate times of fellowship. The love and support is brilliant, as is the prayer for each person who struggles with day-to-day issues in their life.
We hold multiple events throughout the year at CoGS from life events such as weddings, funeral services and baptisms to seasonal events, community events and one off’s. Click here to view our church calendar

Our Vision

Seeking to serve the Lord ‘What are we here for?’ and ‘What does the Lord require of us?’ are important questions to ponder at the start of any new year. Following a week of focussed prayer in the autumn of 2016 and the ‘Leading Your Church into Growth’ course (LYCIG) in Spring 2017, CoGS PCC have been trying to discern answers to these questions and put together a set of ministry priorities for the next few years.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” -Isaiah 43:19
