Prayer: Disturb us O Lord
Disturb us, Lord, when
We are too pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true
Because we dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely
Because we sailed too close to the shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when
with the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst
For the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life,
We have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision
Of the new Heaven to dim.
Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly,
To venture on wilder seas
Where storms will show Your mastery;
Where losing sight of land,
We shall find the stars.
We ask you to push back
The horizons of our hopes;
And to push back the future
In strength, courage, hope, and love.
This we ask in the name of our Captain,
Who is Jesus Christ. Amen

A warm welcome to CoGS.
I hope that you’ll enjoy getting to know our Church family based here in Crookhorn. We are a Charismatic Evangelical Anglican church, affiliated to the New Wine Network and committed to following Jesus’ call to love God and love others. We are part of the Portsmouth Diocese and the Portsdown Cluster (in partnership with Christ Church, Portsdown and St. John’s, Purbrook).
We are friendly followers of Jesus Christ, open to the Holy Spirit, seeking to connect people of all ages and life situations through our worship services, our community ministries and our personal witness. We have a strong focus on work with children, families and young people, aiming to provide safe, fun and exciting opportunities for our under 18s to explore faith and life in ways that they can relate to and understand.
Christian faith is the call to adventurous living and I hope that you will join us in the journey; whether you’re simply curious or seriously seeking, you’re very welcome.
